EcoAction Partners hosted a Green Business Roundtable on Wednesday, June 7 to bring businesses together and discuss ways of going green and reducing business greenhouse gas emissions. Many creative ideas were exchanged for how each business is creating their vision for the New Normal; ranging on topics from pressuring product suppliers to reduce packaging, to suppliers of local organic food for restaurants, to the saving money through reducing energy use.
One great idea that EcoAction Partners will be following up on is to create a platform for sharing carbon footprint reduction ideas throughout the community by business owners/managers, homeowners, and anyone else. It will be a method of communicating, encouraging and finding others with the same passion to accomplish a project in the community. Also, a few new participants signed up their businesses for a consultation soon to become certified – we welcome them!
Many thanks to La Cocina for providing a delicious local organic lunch!!! Much gratitude to all who participated – 10 businesses were represented, with a total of about 15 people. We are excited to build on the momentum created!
