San Miguel Energy Forum – Mountain Village Council Chambers – 10am to 2pm – June 1st
On Wednesday, June 1st a group of regional energy and fuel leaders will join together to present an array of topics related to energy efficiency. This forum will promote the latest opportunities for lighting, weatherization, general commercial and residential building efficiency, and renewable energy opportunities. Recycling, composting, and special disposal will be covered as well as alternative fuel vehicles and infrastructure presented by 4CORE, the Four Corners Office for Resource Efficiency based in Durango.
In this fast-paced forum, representatives from Black Hills Energy (previously SourceGas) and San Miguel Power Association will present energy efficiency assistance solutions (rebates and efficiency programs) for mid-income individuals and families. San Miguel Power Association recently launched an exciting Income Qualified “IQ” Weatherization and Solar Project, which will help qualifying homeowners and renters in the SMPA service area in reducing their electricity costs. Representatives from Alpine Bank will discuss financing energy improvements.
The event is open to all interested parties. Commercial and residential building managers including local hotel, condo, building management, and HOA personnel are strongly encouraged to attend. This forum will help them learn about building efficiency to aid them in saving money for their companies and clients and to reduce their building’s footprint on the environment. Come learn about the benefits of tracking your energy use and energy audits.
The event will be fast paced with plenty of time for audience questions and discussion.
Presenters include: San Miguel Power Association, Black Hills Energy (formerly Source Gas), EcoAction Partners, Energy Action Coordinators from San Miguel County and the Towns of Telluride and Mountain Village, Laurie Dickinson from 4CORE (Four Corners Office for Resource Efficiency), Matthew Shmigelski of ReFuel Colorado, and representatives from Alpine Bank.
