EcoAction Partners and the Colorado Energy Office are offering a freebuilding science workshops to the building communities in San Miguel and Ouray County! The workshop will be on, "Building Science Basics—The House as a System, presented by Gil Rossmiller, Colorado Code Consulting. San Miguel County residents can attend the workshop in Telluride on June 21st and Ouray County residents can attend a similar workshop in Ridgway on June 22nd.
Presentations will take a look at where building science principals meet code requirements by looking at how moisture and air get into our building assemblies and why the code is now addressing those issues. We will also look at how the building envelope, the mechanical system and the lighting system all affect each other and how changes to one system will impact the others. In Telluride, Mechanical ventilations strategies will be discussed and high-performance window representatives will be on hand to address the installation of windows when using continuous insulation and any other high-performance window questions you have.
