In 2023 and in partnership with the Telluride Foundation and San Miguel Power Association, EcoAction Partners launched the Energy Workforce Development Program which provides training opportunities to individuals seeking a career in the energy field.
The goal of this program is to add new skilled labor to the energy sector and may include reimbursement for the cost of technical certifications (including paying individuals a minimum wage for the time they invest in obtaining a certification) as well as possibly an hourly wage to apprentice with a professional in the energy field.

“Getting paid to learn new skills is a powerful springboard for anyone interested in working with energy. The demand shortage for skilled human hands connected to educated brains will never be solved by A.I. and this program’s focus on connecting people with great jobs is well worth your time!”
“The Energy Workforce Development Program allowed me to get cold climate air source heat pump certification so I could support a close friend’s local heat pump business. I’m excited to use my years of hands-on experience with carpentry and add a new skill set to my belt. It was great to be connected with a training I could do in my free time AND get paid for it! Looking forward to exploring more training this fall when I have a little more time.”
